Bold Claim + Guided Steps Template
Why It Works
- Attention Grabbing Hook: Rikki's hook is bold, but also surprising — immediately building curiosity.
- Broadly Applicable: By saying "Yes, even with good managers", Rikki keeps the post applicable to everyone.
- Curiosity Gap: By starting the list immediately in the first post Rikki shows us there are more steps, but also proves they're going to be valuable.
The Template
[BOLD/ALL CAPS TITLE + EMOJI]
This is called [concept], and we all have to do it sometimes. Yes, even with [something you normally wouldn’t expect].
This is how you do it. 👇

This is called habit stacking, and we all need to refresh our routines sometimes. Yes, even if you think you’re “not a morning person.” This is how you do it.👇
1. Make sure you set a consistent wake-up time. Aim for at least 7 hours of sleep.

Timeout: What is a SuperThread?
A SuperThread is a long-form, high value threaded post.
We're analyzing the hook and first post, but each post is a longer threaded-post AKA SuperThread.
So Easy Credibility Hook
Why It Works
- Bold Hook: Another bold hook, the very first sentence makes us all stop and think, immediately building curiosity.
- Credibility/Relatability: By stating that he has been journaling for over 30 years but still tricks himself, he is able to build credibility while also being relatable and making the post apply to a broad audience.
- Big Promise: Not only does he re-hook us by poking the curiosity we already have (by telling us we can't trust our brain!), but he then promises the value of teaching us how to fix it.
The Template
[Bold or slightly shocking statement]. Trust me, after [X years/experience], I still do it.
Here’s why [challenge/problem] happens (and how to fix it):

Lessons From Experience Template
Why It Works
- Credibility: The hook immediately leads with the credibility of 20+ years experience, and then builds on the authority throughout.
- Labor Illusion Effect: By specifically highlighting the effort and experience put in, this post leverages the labor illusion effect and increases the perceived value of the advice that's coming.
- Curiosity Gap: The fact that there are "5" ANYTHING (tips, insights, tactics, etc.) would have been enough curiosity for us after the buildup, but Kara brilliantly tells us there are "insider secrets", nudging the curiosity even further.
